Green, Ohio. (Woio/Gray News)-The family of the 13-year-old boy who died at the Memorial Day says that his “absence leaves a hole that cannot be filled”.

The Summit County Medical Examiner identified the teenager as Matthew Schultz.

The accident occurred at the Memorial Day around 11:30 a.m.

According to the authorities, Matthew drove with six other children aged 7 to 13 in the Air Ninja fitness studio. Two adults went on the side.

Officials say he fell away and was hit by the bikes of the trailer.

Firefighters were on site and immediately brought the victim to the Akron Children's Hospital.

However, he died of his injuries.

The 13-year-old was described as a friendly and caring boy who loved Star Wars and fruit snacks.

Danielle Paciorek, the representative of the Schultz family, said the family was grateful for the support of the community.

“Matthew was only 13 years old, but in this short time he brought him joy for a lifetime. He was a bright light, full of curiosity, laughter and love,” said Paciorek.

She continued: “Matthew's absence leaves a hole that cannot be filled.”

The city plans to share donation updates on its website.

At this point, the city said that it was still geared to support the Schultz family, but would carry out a review of the Parade guidelines in the future.
