Sacrifice in Brandon Death investigation was shot

Brandon, Vt. (WCAX) – A source says WCAX that a man from Brandon was found dead in his house on Saturday morning.

According to the police, Brian Bailey, 46, from Brandon, was found dead in his house in the Champearl Road shortly after 7 a.m. on Saturday.

So far, soldiers have only described death as suspicious, no murder. They say that this is because the forensic laboratory work still has to be done by firearms that were collected at the scene and because the scene could have been disturbed after Bailey's death. The medical examiner also called it suspicious, but the type of death is still pending.

But a source near the investigation says WCAX that the shootout is not accidental.

Nobody is in custody, but the police say that this is an isolated event and there is no threat to the community.

The Major Crime Unit, the Office for Criminal Investigations, the Search Team of the Tatorts and the Brandon Police Department, help with the investigation.
