The lanes in the south of I-15 in Payson closed after a fatal crash

Payson, Utah (Kutv) – All lanes towards the south of Interstate 15 were closed in Utah County because of a fatal crash that blocks all lanes.

The crash occurred shortly after the exchange with the Main Street in Payson around 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cpl. Jared Heywood with the Utah Highway Patrol said at least one person died in the crash.

Details about what happened were not available.

The traffic was secured in the Spanish fork for at least seven miles. Several drivers tried from the Interstate in Main Street and 8000 South outputs.

The drivers were forced from the interstate on the off-ramp to Main Street and let the ramp back onto the street.

Officials advised people who went through the area to expect serious delays.

The traffic behind the crash was allowed to pass the right shoulder.

The traffic to the north was delayed when vehicles went through the area.

Officials of the Ministry of Transport in Utah said that they expected the lanes to the south until around 8 p.m.
