How a 'cool video' changed the mood around Ole Miss Besteball

Oxford – It was at the end of June 2024 and defects rocked the Ole Miss Baseball program.

Andrew Fischer and Liam Doyle traveled to Tennessee, and there was more departure on the horizon.

Ole Miss First Baseman Will Furniss wanted to change the conversation as part of the rebel program, so he asked Scott Wyant a favor.

“Hey scoot!”, Very dirty an SMS. “I need a cool video for posting. We had a lot of bad news this week. And we need something good in the feed.

“I will make a contribution on Twitter that says:” Success in not final; Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue. “Fights like grape.

“Do you have any ideas? Or can you do something to me?”

Wyant, a senior producer/director who was awarded Ole Miss' Emmy Award, was on vacation. He had no access to his Ole Miss Server with all his files.

So he relied on Twitter and other social media to compile a highlight roll/motivation contribution. First, Wyant leaned into a Rocky Balboa speech in the film in 2006 in a speech by Rocky Balboa Rocky Balboa.

“Let me tell you something that you already know. The world is not just sunshine and rainbow. It is a very common and bad place and I don't care how hard you are, it will be on your knees and keep you on your knees and keep you there when you allow you, I, I, or nobody who is so hard that life is not forward. If you know what you are worth, and do not have to say and do not have to say there. Are where you want to be because of him or your or someone!

“I'm a big one Rocky Fan, so I thought it suited the story of 'Can't Can't hear here', “said Wyant.” It only made sense. I had seen this scene a bin, so I only put together two and two. “

Revisions were required. More players went. Jt Quinn went to Georgia. Wes Mendes screwed into Florida State. Finally the video was posted.

“(Furniss) said:” This is sick, “said Wyant. “He said, 'Make sure you make Mason Morris in it.'”

Wyant started with Ole Miss in autumn 2017. His first baseball season by Ole Miss was in 2018. He had won. He had seen a national title in 2022. After two seasons of the loss and the adversity, he only wanted to play a role to make the program better.

Furniss posted Wyant's video on July 1st. The reaction was immediately positive.

“We only had a lot of bad news this week,” said Furniss at the beginning of this week. “Then everything hit. Everything was negative on the feed. It was:” What will we do for the next season? “I just wanted to put together a highlight film of all the boys we were because it was a good number of good players.

About 11 months later, Ole Miss was back in the NCAA tournament. The rebels are the No. 10 National Seed and will organize a region this weekend in Swayze Field. Western Kentucky and Georgia Tech will compete against each other on Friday at 2 p.m. Ole Miss and Murray State at 7 a.m.

“I think that was the goal,” said Furniss. “It was the goal since we started campus in autumn. I think all the boys who really helped. It is difficult to lose boys for the portal. It's just as it is now. It happens to everyone. I think we have held a key group of men, which is huge.

“You brought a good group of transfers this year.

Wyant did not record a hit this year or triggered an opposing striker, but he is glad that the video that he put together that day has changed the mood in the program.

“I just want to do part of these boys and what they do,” said Wyant. “They are such a good group. … I just want to be part of the positive dynamics. It was fun to see that they are rewarded. These guys who were put around when things were really, very hard. That was really effective for me.”

Wyant said it was “great” last summer when you saw that fans on social media accept the rebels who have decided to remain posted after published the video.

“And it was great to see how these boys take the hard street and be rewarded,” said Wyant. “They deserve the success they had.”

Ole Miss gathered an older, mature team in the transfer portal. The rebels are 40-19 and play their best baseball of the season at the right time. Last week the rebels defeated the Southeastern Conference tournament in Hoover, Ala. There is a feeling about the program that could not be the opposite of Polar than the cunt when he asked Wyant for a favor.

“This only seems as if everything is being clicked at the right time,” said Furniss. “It's really good.”
