Agents come to a fist fight outside of Obama's residence

The US intelligence service is examined after it has exposed two uniformed officers who came into service in a service in front of the residence of former President Barack Obama in the Kalorama district of Washington, DC,

The incident occurred on May 21 at 2:30 a.m. and was recorded on video, which showed the officials, exchanging the blows and shovels. One of them, visibly excited, used their radio to apply for the presence of a supervisor and warned that “I need a manager here … immediately before I hit this girl.”

The journalist Susan Crabtree published video and audio of the dispute on Twitter and found that the incident took place about two miles from the White House. The secret service confirmed the incident and suspended both agents while an internal examination is underway.

A spokesman for the agency told the New York Post: “The secret service has a very strict code of conduct for all employees and every behavior that violates him is unacceptable.”

More doubts about the secret service

This episode contributes to a series of incidents that have questioned the professionalism and effectiveness of the secret service. In September 2024, an armed security guard approached the former president Obama with a laptop in his SUV, which was parked in an alley next to the mother Wolf Restaurant in Los Angeles.

The guard, which worked in a private event in the same building, reported that when he approached the vehicle, he was surprised to see Obama inside and quickly retired because he feared that he was considered a threat. The secret service claimed that there are no guards in the vehicle during the incident, but eyewitnesses contradicted this report.

These events have expressed concerns about the ability of the secret service to ensure the security of the top officials and former presidents of the country. The struggle between agents outside of Obama's place of residence and the incident in Los Angeles underline the need for a thorough review of the protocols and the training of the personnel responsible for the protection of the president.

In the past, the agency has been criticized in the past because of other security violations, such as the 2014 incident, when an armed intruder managed to enter the White House, and the shootout from 2011, which remained unnoticed for several days. This story, along with the recent events in connection with President Donald Trump's security during his time as a candidate, has triggered a re -evaluation of the agency. However, this episode will not help.
