After a spirited victory on the street, the Detroit pistons try to ward off the elimination again against the New York Knicks, this time on Thursday evening.

The pistons stood on the edge of the elimination after they had made a few close (and controversial) competitions in Detroit in games 3 and four. However, the team reacted on Tuesday evening with one of the mutant efforts of the season in Madison Square Garden.

Game 5 was back and forth from the opening tip. No team had too much lead, although Detroit was able to get a little control in the second half. The pistons looked as if they had it in their pockets, but needed some clutch chips and an important defensive stop in the dying seconds to achieve a 106-103 victory, which brought the series to a sixth game.

Cade Cunningham led the pistons with 24 points, while Ausar Thompson appeared with 22 large. Tobias Harris scored 17 points, while Dennis Schroeder came from the bank to achieve at 14.

No Knick scored 20 points in the loss of 20 points, with Anunoby led the team at 19. Karl-Anthony Towns registered a double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
