Team Penske breaks through with Cindric Score

Talladega, Ala.-Austin Cindric's dramatic victory at Jack Links 500 on Sunday on Talladega Superspeedway was certainly a big boost for the 26-year-old star of the Nascar Cup series.

It not only beat Cindrics Playoff ticket, but also as an important thing that the success brought its legendary Team Penske organization back into the winner's column for the first time this season.

Despite the three drivers of Penske, Cindric, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney, who were legitimate competitors in almost all 10 races this season, the team slowly and after the strong starting week of the constantly high Penske standard and the strong starting time week slowly and weekly from the strong edition.

However, Cindric's impressive representation of Sundays may have changed the sheet.

All three drivers have stage victories and all three had led three -digit rounds in the season before Cindric raised the Talladega Trophy. And the Wood Brothers Racing Team, which works under the technical roof of Penske, won with driver Josh Berry in Las Vegas.

“I think a combination of encouragement for heads that are beaten against the table,” said Cindric about the challenging start of the year for the team in general. “You have four to five days to get over yourself and try that this week will not be bleeding every week. To be able to watch people like Ryan [Blaney] and Joey [Logano]These boys are champions, but they do adversities just like the next guy, not different from how these races take place.

“I think society loves society in a way. I have the feeling that Ryan had a reasonable share of hard breaks this season, and I know that there is a lot of strength in our company, and a win like this only helps the entire team to push in the same direction, no differently than the 21 car gains in Vegas this year and now.

Perhaps the most confusing is that the three-time and reigning master of the Nascar Cup series, Joey Logano, not only wins, but still races for his first top five of the year.

After they looked rounds and looked strong on Sunday, what looked like a fifth place in Talladega was negated after Nascar routine inspection had failed after the race for a loose bolt. Logano was fell to 37th place in the official termination and the team quickly exhibited a Mea -Culpa and said it would not protest against the campaign.

“It was not intended and occurred during the course of the racing event. Team Penske accepts the disqualification,” the explanation said.

Logano's best finish is eighth place in Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on March 30th, although his number 22 led in six races, including a race best 83 in Atlanta, where he took the 12th and 81 laps in Phoenix, where he took 13th place. The good news is that his 284 rounds are the fourth in the series this year. Despite the frustrating start, Logano is still the 11th place in the championship driver classification.

He was delighted and encouraged to see a teammate on Sunday. “It is time for one of us win these things,” said Logano. “You think about the number of rounds in general by Team Penske and Ford and we simply could not conclude. So if you put a few Fords in the front row, I wish I was one of them in a selfish way, but it is also good to see the people who run up there and are able to click on a pens.”

Blaney, driver of team No. 12 Penske Ford, won the pole position in Atlanta and has three top 5 placements, but does not have a difficult opening of the season, as on Sunday, not from him. In Talladega he was inevitably collected in an accident started by Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski when the field (including Blaney) drove into the Pit Road.

The NASCAR Cup champion 2023 led a race with the best 124 laps on Homestead, just to take off with a rare engine failure – the third race in a row (also Phoenix and Las Vegas), in which it was not finished despite promising demonstrations. The good news for Blaney is that despite the disappointing place in the championship driver classification, he is still taking eighth place and is still an absolute favorite every week.
