Four VSP workers who were admitted to the hospital after gas lick

Four employees of the Rashtriya ISPAT Nigam Limited (Rinl), the company unit of the Visakhapatnam Stahlwerk (VSP), fell awareness at her workplace late Wednesday evening after a gas leak in late Wednesday evening.

They were immediately admitted to various hospitals in which their condition was stable as on Thursday.

The four employees were identified as Susmith, Yadav, M. Venkateswara Rao and Ramaraju. When they fell passed out, their colleagues immediately switched off the gas supply of the oven and later moved them to the general hospital of the steel mill. Later one of them, Mr. Venkateswara Rao, was moved to a corporate hospital where his condition improved.

When contacted, the official sources of Rinl said:

In the meantime, Visakhapatnam M. Sribharat visited the corporate hospital, in which Mr. Venkateswara Rao was treated, and asked about his health with the doctors. Mr. Bharat tried to know the reasons for the incident with the patient and others, and assured that such incidents would not occur.

On the other hand, the state Executive Leader CPI (m) CH. Narasinga Rao, who is also an important VSP union leader, said that the workers are concerned about the state of the steel mill after the latest developments such as discharge and reduction in the number of employees in the form of VRS.

“Plant management should monitor the safety of the operations, otherwise it will be a great danger for everyone involved,” he said.
