Trump fires security advisor after chat group scandal

US President Donald Trump confirmed yesterday that he replaced his national security advisor Mike Waltz after a leak of the chat group and said he had to bring him to the United Nations.

In the first major cabinet recording of Trump's new term, the President said that Foreign Minister Marco Rubio would now also serve his “interim” national security advisor after Waltz.

“I am pleased to be able to tell you that I will nominate Mike Waltz as the next ambassador for the United States at the United Nations,” Trump said about the social of truth and confirmed earlier reports that Waltz was suppressed.

Trump gave no reason for the move, but Waltz had under pressure since the end of March the so -called “signal gate” scandal.

At the time, the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic Magazine revealed Waltz to a group chat about US strikes on the Houthi rebels of Yemen to the Commercial Messaging app signal.

The Democrats will now turn up the heat of the Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth, who was the official who unveiled the air striker details in advance and also shared these details in a separate signal group chat, which, among other things, contained his spouse.

“Now make Hegseth,” said Chuck Schumer, the Democrat of the Upper Senate, on X.
