The Minneapolis police arrest a man from whom they believe he shot and killed 3 people

Minneapolis – The authorities arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the fatal shootings of three people in Minneapolis on Thursday, and the city's police chief said that the next day a person was killed as a retaliation.

The police said that the four people killed and two more were wounded in the several shootings, and the authorities suspect that the shootings were related to gangs. However, police chief Brian O'Hara said during a press conference on Thursday that the authorities still examine the motifs behind the shootings.

The shootings shook a large indigenous community south of downtown Minneapolis. A 20-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were killed in the shootings on Tuesday, and a 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. A 30-year-old man died at the shootout on Wednesday.

The first shootout took place shortly before midnight Tuesday. O'Hara said it was “completely likely” that the second shootout with a single victim was an answer to the three deaths, and he said someone else was responsible. It occurred a little more than a mile (1.6 kilometers) northeast in front of a residential building in the Minneapolis offices of the Red Lake Nation's offices at around 1 a.m.

“But in addition, I can not speculate about ongoing beef,” said O'Hara.

The chief of police said the police believe that the shootings are related to the “lived experience” of the people in the region.

The US marshal service said its local refugee -task Force and an FBI Swat team arrested the suspect in the several shootings on Thursday afternoon. He was held in the Hennepin County prison and had not been charged from Thursday evening.
