President Trump said on Thursday that he was nominating his national security advisor Mike Waltz as his ambassador at the United Nations in the first major distribution of top helpers since Trump since Trump.

Trump said on social media that he would make Marco Rubio his preliminary national security advisor – a role that will be taken on his existing job, Foreign Minister.

The UN spot has been free since Trump has asked its first candidate, Rep. Elise Stefanik, Rn.Y., to stay in congress instead in order to preserve the close majority of Republicans in the House of Representatives.

“I feel very honored to continue my service to President Trump and our great nation,” said Waltz on social media.

Vance says there has nothing to do with the group chat

Trump initially downplayed Waltz – who took responsibility for the mishap – the incident as a “breakdown”. In his announcement on Thursday, he was told free of charge from Waltz and last week The Atlantic In an interview that “Waltz goes well” when asked about his future.

“I think we learned: 'Maybe don't use a signal, okay?' If you want to know the truth.

Trump has not yet spoken to reporters about his decision. In an interview, however, Vice President Vance said that the change in the roles had nothing to do with the group chat incident.

“I know that President really likes Mike Waltz. He just thought that the position of the UN ambassadors would be a better place for Mike Waltz,” Vance told Fox News' Bret Baier.

“The media want to frame this as a shot. Donald Trump has released many people. He does not give them appointments in the Senate afterwards,” said Vance.

Trump was based on other officials because of national security issues

During his first 100 days in office, Trump supported other top helpers for national security problems such as conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza and talks with Iran, including the negotiations Middle Eastern Steve WitkoffFinance minister Scott Bessent as well as foreign minister Marco Rubio.

Waltz was the first green basket cap that was chosen in the congress, where he served three terms of office for East Central Florida in the House of Representatives.

Waltz, who was known as the National Security Hawk, had a uphill street to climb in Trump's circle. He has long been a advocate of sanctions against Russia and never seemed to be entirely to coordinate Trump's approach in Moscow and other opponents.

Vance denied that the change in the position was a sign of philosophical divisions in Trump's team. “I have already seen some people who have said that this is not possible to war between the Hawks and the anti-hawks, new conservatives against Maga or the realist ISTARUM,” said Vance.

Before Waltz took over the White House's job, he was chairman of the subcommittee for the willingness of the house of the House Armed Services and member of the House Foreign Affair Committee and the constant selection committee for secret service.

It is unusual for the foreign minister to do this job at the same time

After hours of rumors, Trump's announcement came that Waltz left his position – and while Rubio's spokeswoman Tammy Bruce reporter informed in the Foreign Ministry. “We have to admit that this last 100 days – it is as if you are capturing a damn ball train,” Bruce told reporters.

The last person was during the Nixon era Henry Kissinger, who was also a secretary for State and National Security Advisers. He did both jobs for two years.

“Some Americans in Washington and elsewhere thought that the double order gave Kissinger too much power and persuaded President Ford to pull him from his white house title at the end of 1975,” said Michael's historian, Michael said.

In Rubio's case, Trump pointed out that this will be a temporary order until he selects a new national security advisor.

It is known that Trump trusts the people of whom he familiarizes several positions at the same time. During his first term, his budget director Mick Mulvaney was also responsible for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Katie noted at Brooking's institution.

“It is very unconventional, but it is not unusual for the Trump administration. And I saw it during the first term – and I saw it with a lot of awe because I hadn't seen it in previous administrations,” said Tenpas.
