3 killed in US 85 accident after the suspect of Weld County flees

According to the Colorado State Patrol, three people were killed in a fiery frontal accident against US 85 on Wednesday after an SUV driver had driven oncoming traffic ahead of Weld County Sheriff.

At around 3 p.m., the deputies pursued a alleged stolen GMC Yukon in the USA 85 near Colorado 60 when the Yukon driver crossed the southern lanes and plunged against a Toyota 4runner, the state patrol shared in a press release.

The area is located between Platteville and Gilcrest, about 15 miles south of Greeley.

The crash caused a gas leak and both vehicles catch fire and catch the driver and a passenger in the Yukon and the Toyota driver.

The soldiers tried to separate the vehicles with a patrol car after the crash and tried to extinguish the fire, but both drivers and the passenger died at the scene. Her names are published by the forensic doctor of Weld County.

A deputy had minor injuries after trying to save people from the crash and was treated on site according to the state patrol.

The mark of the Yukon was stolen and did not match the SUV, but the investigators are still working to confirm whether the vehicle itself was stolen.

In a statement, the Weld County's office said that a deputy was to go to Yukon during a traffic stop when the driver drove away and the crash was “when the deputy tried to shift and contact the vehicle”.

The sheriff's office rejected it to answer questions about whether the deputy was pursuing the Yukon and whether his lights and his siren were involved in the ongoing examinations.
