Mother of the man who were killed in the non -licensed night club in 2022

Colorado Springs – Vickie Johnson said when she heard about the federal attack in an underground nightclub in Colorado Springs on Sunday morning, she felt relieved that the investigators “finally did something”.

“I'm so happy that you … you complete these places,” she said.

Her son Elijah was shot in another non -licensed nightclub on the airport road in December 2022.

“They hacked him. You have to stop. These places are not safe.

She said her son quit his security job a week before his death. On the night of the shootout, Johnson said her son went to the club as a patron.

“They were at the door, at the front door and heard a little excitement. So he said: 'Let me see if these boys need help.' So he went, you know, and I think they brought out this child and turned it out, and this child pulled a gun and just started shooting, ”said Johnson.

Six months later, the police arrested Colorado Springs Omar Martinez-Armiento, who was 19 at the time of the shootout, and accused him of murder.

On Sunday morning, agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted a large raid at a non -licensed night club at the South Academy Boulevard. The Dea Rocky Mountain Division said agents confiscated weapons, meth and cocaine and arrested more than 100 people who lived in the country without adequate documentation.

Johnson praised the law enforcement officers for the attack and hopes that this will lead to a greater approach to underground night clubs in the whole city.

“I would like to thank all of the police and the Dea and whoever was involved because they adjusted to it and made it. If you let it be known, you cannot keep these places open and think that you will get through with it,” said Johnson.

The Colorado Springs police said that they had examined six night clubs for potential illegal activities since 2022.

The police said the new Havana bar and the grill at the North Academy Boulevard, an unnamed after-PSE club on the Palmer Park Boulevard, and La Terraza on the South Circle Drive are all closed by the public trouble. CSPD said Babilonia Bar and Grill in the East Platte Avenue, Nova Nightclub in the South Nevada Avenue and El Huracán at the South Academy Boulevard were sold by their real estate owners.

A CSPD spokesman said some of these clubs were licensed and some were not licensed. The spokesman said that each locations had several services for services that initiate a police investigation and public harassment procedures.
