Cia hopes that cinematic videos will persuade to spy on for us

On Thursday, the CIA published two social media videos that invite disappointed Chinese officials to spy on for the United States in order to use the government's corruption and repression in China.

The cinematic, mandarin-language videos published in several platforms are similar to the recruitment videos that the CIA agency has produced in recent years to encourage Russians to share secrets with the US officials that the Russian-speaking videos have proven to be successful.

The director John Ratcliffe vowed to make China a top priority for the CIA secret services and quoted the videos as the latest example of these efforts.

“Today, the CIA Mandarin language videos that aim to recruit Chinese officials released to steal secrets,” said Ratcliffe in a statement.

“No opponent in the history of our nation has presented a more powerful challenge or a capable strategic competitor than the Communist Party of the Chinese Party.”

The Chinese message did not immediately answer a request for a comment.

Six months ago, the CIA in Mandarin only published one video with only text in which it is explained how to confront the “Dark Web”, part of the Internet, only with specialized software, with which “Dark Web” is confronted with the CIA. The video was viewed 900,000 times, said agency officials.

Although it is difficult to speak for China due to the authoritarian government, more Chinese are voluntary to share information about the dark web, said a CIA official.

“If it didn't work, we wouldn't make videos anymore,” said the official. “We want the Chinese citizens to know that we always have an open door to them.”

The CIA officer said the agency was interested in a variety of information from China that goes beyond traditional espionage, including advanced science, military and cyber technology as well as data and foreign policy secrets.

Appeal to party officials

In one of the videos, a young man who portrays the Communist Party in the younger Chinese Communist Party accompanies them to a high -ranking civil servant who tried new suits and shops an expensive watch. The junior officer tells the video and shares his frustration about the wealth gap between the party elite and the rest of the Chinese society.

“We dedicate a lifetime, but they are the ones who benefit from it,” he says. “We taught that we can change our lives better by being able to pursue the rules and work hard. But why can only a few people enjoy this kind of happiness?”

The Junior officials complained that the party has promised for all prosperity, “but the profits of our collective efforts are selected by some”, and he finally comes to the conclusion that he has to “make my own way”.

While dramatic music builds up, he goes out of his modest apartment. “The most difficult part of a trip is the first step. It is time that I work towards my own dreams,” he says when he takes a link to his phone to secretly contact the CIA.

In a second video, a well -dressed high -ranking party team takes part in a formal dinner and feels that his colleagues maneuver against him. He fears that he could share the fate of his comrades, which were displaced by power.

“It is easy to become a memory,” says the official. “And far too everyday to just disappear.”

He says he cannot allow his family's fate in the hands of party officers and predicts that “the whisper becomes louder”.

The official opts for “a different way” for his family and contacts the CIA via a safe portal on his phone. “No matter what my fate will bring, my family will know a good life,” he says.

In February, Russia reacted to the CIA's Russian -speaking recruitment videos with their own to convince American “patriots” to share secrets with Russian spy services.

US officials have warned that Chinese and Russian intelligence officers hope to use the reductions of the Trump government in the federal employee. Their hope is to recruit employees of the CIA and other US espionage agencies who have recently been offered buyout to spy on for Beijing and Moscow.
