JMCSS '4. Annual gala shows student performance, school progress

Jackson, Tenn. – An annual celebration shows the success of the students and the progress of a local school system.

Jackson-Madison County's school system had its 4. Annual gala. The invited sponsors could see the progress of the school system.

“It is a time when we come together to celebrate services and talk about the progress in the school system. We also stand for the entertainment of the students,” said Melissa Spurrgeon, chief of staff at JMCSS.

An alum of the harmonious Madison Academic High School returned to appear for gala guests.

Together with the services, the leader of the school system spoke about the progress of the district.

“The spotlight of the event is Dr. King, our superintendent, [he] gives a state of the school address. That is why he gives updates of the various things in the school system, ”said Spurgeon.

In the past four years, Dr. King calls for the returning spectators.

“We noticed that we say something good, we'll get better, but don't leave me. I can't do it without you, I need you and you stayed with me,” said Dr. Marlon King, JMCSS superintendent.

This year he asks that the guests flow after the root of the matter. Together with that, progress in the enrollment and a new school were shared.

“Performance and growth that we had, and we celebrate and will celebrate updates to Pope elementary, which will be opened in August. Then the Malesus Innovation Center, which was opened this year, is updated,” said Spurrgeon.

Although this is not a fundraiser, sponsors are an opportunity to see where their investments are going.

“The Special Projects Fund at the Community Foundation of West Tennessee – The proceeds from this fund in this Fund in this Foundation and we use it for special projects called the superintendent,” said Spurrgeon.

Event coordinators share that it is astonishing that this event is growing and you look forward to having it.
