The stepfather of a young woman who became a victim of a murder in Winnipeg's West End at the beginning of this week said she was killed when she was tried to call up personal things from the house of a former partner.

The 22-year-old Nadia Flett carriers and a 27-year-old man died after found on Monday shortly after 2 p.m. in a house in the Sherburn Street between Portage and St. Matthews Avenue in the Sherburn Street.

On Wednesday, the police said that the incident was a murder self-murder and identified FLett carriers. They did not name the man who killed her, because his death means that he cannot be charged.

Flett carriere was a member of the First Nation God's Lake, who lived in Winnipeg. She had lived with her parents and five siblings in the past six months after she had separated from her ex-boyfriend and moved out of the house that she had shared, according to her stepfather Ken everard.

He says FLett carriers picked up some of her things out of the house on Monday afternoon. Investigators believe that FLett carriers died of injuries who suffered his former partner during an attack by her former partner, who then suffered his life, he said.

“Her current friend had offered to go with her to do this, and she felt that it was something she could do alone,” Everard told CBC News on Thursday.

“We are all deeply shocked. Nobody would have predicted something like this, and that's the stuff of nightmares.”

Paden Shelton, Flett-carrier's friend at the time of her death, said she thought that her ex would be at work if she went there on Monday, but he was at home.

“She wrote me an SMS and a few friends let us know that he was there and she just wanted to try to pack as much as possible,” he said.

The police found them in medical need less than an hour later, he said, adding that it was an unexpected and devastating blow for their family and friends.

“The mother is really torn right now.”

“We will love them forever”

Shelton said FLett carriers described her ex-boyfriend as unstable and he had treated her badly throughout her relationship.

Shelton began to date with Flett carriers in December. He called her the most caring and sweetest person he had ever met.

“She continues to live [through] All of your family and friends. We all miss them very much and we will love them forever. “

Everard remembers his stepdaughter as a happy person who loved laughing.

“We enjoyed our time with her. We enjoyed that she was back home and rebuilt a kind of reconstruction of roots and foundations at home,” he said.

“Unfortunately, she will not have the opportunity to fulfill many of the things she had hoped for and we will remember her as the beautiful person she was.”
