Despite the fence, the neighbors say that the area remains a magnet for illegal activities.

“I saw that drugs were sold, people who have sex who made toilets, it's just bad,” said a resident.

Another added: “I was offered crystal meth and ice several times. I damaged the property of people.”

The city has previously explained that its ability to tackle the problem is limited because the lot is privately owned.

However, the residents are not satisfied with this explanation and are determined to urge changes.

It gets worse, it gets worse

Said a neighbor and commented concerns about the quality of life of the community.

The street was never the way it is.

More than a dozen inhabitants took part in a municipality that organized with law enforcement authorities, civil servants of public security and the representative of the city, Chris Canales.

The tensions ran up during the meeting when the residents expressed their concerns.

“It doesn't matter. My neighbor's family is at risk. That is the point, sir,” said a resident during the meeting.

Canales replied: “If you prefer to fall the fence, we can do it”, but did not offer any direct solutions.

However, he undertook to meet the district criminal day and the district prosecutor to solve the problem.

The residents remain determined to see measures. “I will go to the next city council meeting. I'm looking forward to seeing you,” said a resident.

Another added: “And the city claims that they do not have the power to do this. They don't have the resources to do it. I will not allow anyone to say that they do not have resources.”
