Young lacrosse

Luke Allen scored four goals when BC High (9-1) defeated St. John's Catholic conference opponent from Shrewsbury with 17: 6. … Josh Barton, Luke Kelly, Ryan McCarthy and Cam McCarthy each scored two goals when St. Johns Preped Catholic Memorial, 9-8.

In the Northeastern Conference, Colten Russo (five goals, two templates) and Colin Driscoll (five goals, One Assist) were defeated as a masconomet Danvers 19: 8.

Girl lacrosse

Taylor Corr ended with eight goals when Silver Lake North Quincy brought in 13: 10 in the Patriot League game. … Shannon Balfe scored in overtime to give Whitman-Hanson a 9: 8 victory against Quincy.

Sophia Fruci scored five goals and scored with assist when Walpoles doubled on Brocline 20-10 at the Bay State Conference.

Avery Laundry scored five goals and three templates, while Cecelia Tripp added another four goals to lead Swampscott in a 18:5 win against Winthrop in a Matchup of the North Heasters Conference. … Maddie Forbes scored six goals and added two templates in Marblehead's 14:13 victory against Beverly.

In the Tri-Valley League, Kendall Herrick, Izzy Kittredge and Maeve Kelly scored four times when Medfield Holliston fell with 19: 5. … Ella Taylor and Olivia Melanson each scored four goals when Medway Dedham defeated 11: 3.

Emily Fleming scored eight goals when Archbishop Williams defeated Latin Academy in a non-League competition with 14: 5. … Julia Kipperman scored seven goals when Nauset came to a 17: 6 victory over the Falmouth Academy.

Softball

In the South Shore League, Elsie Testa 12, when Abatington (9-2) Norwell flies 3-0. … Taryn Clancy threw a one-hitter with 14 strikes when Middleboro Cohaset took 12: 0.

Camryn Jayde Collier excluded eleven batteries when the Latin Academy spent out in a game in the Boston City League in East Boston (16: 0). … Maggie Schlossberg (three goals, 4 RBI) hit 13 in a hitter to 13, while Bella Abram's five goals and four runs also scored when East Bridgewater Pembroke defeated 15-2.

Jackie Giordano 14 excluded in the ISL and allowed a goal when Brooks BB & N, 1-0. Sophia Florencio was 3 against 3 and scored the only run of the game on a single from Kyleigh Matola in the sixth.

Nevaeh ETH was 3-against-3 with a triple, three RBI and four runs, the O'Bryant 17-5 defeated as Lynn Classical.

Young football

Billy Ryan resigned after an excellent 32-year career as head coach at BC High. Member of the eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association and the BC High Athletic Hall of Fame. Ryan won over 300 games, 11 championships of the Catholic conference, an eastern Massachusetts and the title of Division 1.

Ice hockey

The third annual A-shot for Life Classic will take place this Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton. There will be a girl game, followed by a boy play during this period.

The ASFL classic is the hockey siblings of similar ASFL initiatives in basketball, baseball, football,

Softball, lacrosse, football and field hockey. These initiatives are a mix of a fundraising campaign and a competitive sporting events.
