Thunderstorm guard continues for Castro, Brisco, Hall, Childdress until 1 a.m.

Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – A thunderstorm clock remains in force for the Northern South Plains until 1 a.m. The clock contains the following districts: Castro, Brisco, Hall and Childress, including Tulia, Silverton, Quitaque and Türkiye.

Storms will move east to the southeast of the Northern South Plains overnight. Some storms will probably move to other areas of the region until morning.

After a high of 83 degrees in Lubbock on Thursday, Friday in the afternoon highs will return from 60s to low 70s. Add gusty northeast winds with 15 to 25 miles per hour and clouds and there is a cool morning and a mild afternoon for all communities in the South Plains.

Saturday starts cold, but the afternoon will be largely sunny and the afternoon highs will climb the low until the mid -1970s.

Sunday remains in the 70s.
