7 people who are dead in Island Park after fiery crash

Iceland Park – Seven people are dead after a fiery crash on Thursday evening on the US Highway 20 near Henry's Lake in Island Park.

After a collision with a Dodge Ram Pickup and a Mercedes passenger car, according to a press release by Idaho State Police near Milepost 399, the call was called 399. Both vehicles caught fire after the crash.

According to Idaho State Police, the van reported a tour group of 14 people. Six people died in the van and the driver of the pickup also died.

A medical helicopter, ambulance and other first aiders supported at the scene.

US 20 remains closed in both directions because an examination is underway. The Idaho transport department helps with traffic control until the highway is cleared. According to the ISP, there is no expected timeline for its opening.

The Coroner of the Fremont County office will publish the names of the deceased after family members have been notified. The forensic doctor also determines the cause and way of every death.
