2 horses in the barn fire southeast of McPherson killed

McPherson County, Kan. (Kwch) – Two horses died on Monday at 7:30 a.m. on a property southeast of McPherson. The McPherson fire brigade reported that the first crews near 17th and Eisenhower Road arrived at the scene of the crime, saw them a strongly involved fire for a small barn. The roof broke into the building, McPherson Fire reported.

“The fire brigade lines used hose lines and deleted the fire from the outside of the structure,” said McPherson's fire brigade.

The fire brigade of Galva and Moundridge helped with additional tenders.

The McPherson fire brigade reported that two horses from a pen were moved near the fire, but two others could not make it out of the structure.

The cause of the fire is examined. McPherson's fire brigade said that no foul is suspected.
