Measure. State police made changes to training procedures before the death of recruits – Boston News, Wetter, Sport

New Braintre, mass. (WHDH) – After the death of a recruit last year, the state police in Massachusetts have several changes to the training procedures before their incoming recruitment class.

The reforms will include smaller class sizes, and the agency will also carry out an independent assessment of the State Police Academy and examine the training methods, injury rates as well as culture and leadership.

The administrators also said that they will check whether the academy is geared towards national standards.

The reforms come after Enrique Delgado-Garcia died last year in a training facility for state police in Massachusetts in New Braintree.

The investigators said he had repeatedly hit the boxing ring when he saved another trainee.

Attorney General Andrea Campbell has appointed an external lawyer who headed an independent examination of his death. W
