Trump removes waltzes over chat blanket scandal

The US President Donald Trump dismissed the national security advisor Mike Waltz on Thursday after a group chat -blob scandal, who instead nominated him as the next ambassador at the United Nations.

The move marks the first major cabinet conversion from Trump's second term. The President confirmed that Foreign Minister Marco Rubio will temporarily take on the role of the national security advisor.

“Mike Waltz America always put the first place from the battlefield to the Congress and in the White House,” Trump wrote about the social of truth and announced the decision.

However, the 51 -year -old former Special Forces Officer and the Florida congress member were under pressure since the “Signalgate” scandal broke out in March. Waltz accidentally added the editor of The Atlantic To a signal group chat via US air attacks on Houthi rebels in Yemen.

“I feel very honored to continue my service to President Trump and our great nation,” said Waltz after the announcement to X.

Despite public support, Trump reports reportedly the trust in Waltz over the leak. The tensions also grew behind the scenes due to the aggressive attitude of Waltz to Russia and Iran, which had come into conflict with the current diplomatic approach of the government.

Trump applied for a quick ceasefire company in Ukraine and recently reopened the negotiations with Tehran on his nuclear program. Waltz 'hard views increasingly contradict this new direction.

Ultimately, Waltz lasted a little more than 100 days in his post – one of the shorter terms for a US national security advisor. Trump's second term otherwise saw more personnel stability compared to his first.

The Democrats have now drawn attention to Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, who reported also to shared sensitive details about air strikes in the same signal group. He supposedly sent this information into a separate chat in which his wife was involved.

“Now they are doing Hegseth,” said Chuck Schumer, chairman of the Senate Democrat, on X and called for further measures.

'Scalp' claim by conspiracy theorists

Despite the controversy, Trump continued to defend Hegseth, a former Fox News -actor, who dismissed the episode as another “witch hunt”.

Waltz 'nomination for the United Nations will require confirmation of the Senate, which means that the scandal will dominate the headlines for weeks.

Reports also indicate that the MP from Waltz, Alex Wong, may withdraw from the National Security Council, although no formal explanation was submitted.

The real estate magnate Steve Witkoff – which was commissioned by Trump to lead the negotiations with Moscow and Tehran – becomes a long -term as a candidate for the national security advisor.

Waltz was one of several high -ranking personalities who were targeted by the right -wing conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, who met Trump to work for the elimination of civil servants who kept them inadequately loyal.

Loomer, known for the promotion of views of Fringe, including the claims that the 9/11 attacks were an insider job, seemed to be appreciated for Waltz 'sacking on X and simply posted: “scalp”.

During a appearance by Fox News on Wednesday, Waltz did not make his upcoming distance consciously and later joined Trump's television cabinet session, where he praised the leadership of the President.

Some of the most influential personalities of US foreign policy, including Henry Kissinger, have historically held the position of the national security advisor.
