Video game wikis are massive, and efforts managed by the community were built

On the whole, Uespwiki is an impressive information repository of the Elder Scroll's franchise. It also documents the dense, often involved tradition of the franchise, as well as books and goods that were sold next to the games, and the several table top games.

Despite its uniqueness and kind of early “Web 2.0” design style, the limited advertising space and the name of the organization, the UEP essentially an independent wiki. It has the entire bone structure that makes a wiki accessible and easy to use and is driven by a dedicated community by editors.

The wiki currently maintains over 110,000 articles. The expression “We have a collaborative source for all knowledge about that built up Elder scroll Series since 1995 ”is at the top of the homepage. This year UEP celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“The sentence I always say is” We are older than Google “,” said 51-year-old Dave Dave Humphrey, founder of the UEP. “Obviously we are not as big or as popular as Google, but we are older than Google and we are older than many websites. In fact, I don't think there is another older website for older scrolls that are older.”

The earliest version of the UEP was not a wiki at all and is only a little older than 30 years. It was a message that was distributed via Usenet called Daggerfall -FaQ, which was originally published in autumn 1994, and contained contents of Prerelease The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall.

A year later, the FAQ became a website for a website, and a few months later it became the unofficial Elder -SCROLLS pages, which at that time was only a website to play information about the Elder Scrolls games.

When The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind It was the biggest game of the franchise at that time, and Humphrey was quickly busy. He wrote hundreds of entries for the game and his two DLCs while he retained his regular job. But the more he did, the more reader -e emails suggested new entries and changes to the website. In 2005 UEP officially became a wiki.
