Jack Quaid “Immens pride” of the thriller in Alabama: This is how you see it

Film fans in Alabama have been waiting to see “Neighborhood Watch”, a crime thriller with Jack Quaid and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The film, which was previously called “NowHere Men”, was shot in several places in Birmingham in autumn 2023. For example, the people in the neighborhood of Crestwood buzzed when trucks and crew members set up for several days in November and scenes in a bungalow on the eighth Terrace South in Bungalow.

Now, about 18 months later, “Neighborhood Watch” was published in streaming services and in selected theaters. The Birmingham sidewalk cinema organized a demonstration of the film together with the release date on April 25, but it is unclear whether “Neighborhood Watch” appears in other cinemas in the state.

If you want to see “Neighborhood Watch”, the best bet is a streaming service like the Prime video from Amazon, Apple TV+ and the like. In the meantime, some streets and sights in Birmingham can be seen in the trailer for the film. (Take a look at it in the video below.)

Here is the plot for “neighborhood watch”, as published on IMDB:

“When a mentally sick young man believes he is a kidnapping and the police refuse to believe him reluctantly to his neighbors – a bitter, retired security guard – to help him find the missing woman.”

Quaid, 33, known for his leading role in the superhero series “The Boys” by Amazon, plays the young man who discovers the crime. Morgan, who acquired fame in AMC's “Walking Dead” franchise, portrays the irasklow security guard.

Both stars were discovered during the shooting of fans, although production in Birmingham was quite low during their time. The performers also included Malin Akerman from “Watchmen” and several background actors from Alabama.

The director of “Neighborhood Watch” is Duncan Skiles, who is primarily known for the “The Clovehitch Killer” in 2018. Sean Farley wrote the script.

“Our little film is in selected cinemas and VoD!” Said Quaid on April 25 about an Instagram contribution. “We shot in Birmingham al (at that time nowhere men) in less than 3 weeks. This was indie filmmaking at its core. Thank God we were blessed with an incredible, talented crew. Unique voice can hardly expect what he does next. At some point injected with blood.

The reviews of the film have so far been mixed, with the diversity praised it as a “skillful, character -based seriomedy” and the Daily Beast as “too bizarre for his own well -being”.

“Neighborhood Watch” currently has a score of 63% for Rotten tomatoes, a film page that summarizes the reviews of critics and creates a percentage assessment based on the “fresh” film. From May 1st, 24 reviews were listed on the website: 15 gave him a thumbs up as “fresh” and nine opted for “Rotten”.

“It is difficult to understand why adult thrillers like this don't get bigger prints, but if you have a”, do not do them as before when it comes to genre, look at it, “said Glenn Kenny in his review for Rogerebert.com.” It will very likely meet an older (or acid) place for old school. “
