China “Rating” US offer to participate in trade negotiations | Trump -Zölle

Beijing “evaluates” an offer from the USA to participate in trade negotiations.

China's Ministry of Commerce said on Friday: “The United States recently took the initiative on many occasions to send information through relevant parties to China and hopes to speak to China.”

On Thursday, influential commentators in China said that the country was ready to have talks.

Ren Yi, a nationalistic blogger who wrote under the nickname Rabbit, wrote that he had learned from the sources that the USA had “contacted the Chinese side frequently and proactively through various channels, in the hope of negotiating with the Chinese government on economic and trade issues”.

China has denied claims by US officials that the talks were already underway or that China had initiated them. Trump said last week that Xi Jinping, China's guide, called him. China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the United States of “misleading the public to the public”. Ren wrote: “If China had given the initiative and gave in the United States, then of course the United States would not have existed to take the initiative to contact China.”

The Ministry of Commerce said on Friday that Washington had to prove “sincerity” in the negotiations and that it should not be involved in “compulsion and extortion”.

China has repeatedly accused the United States of bullying in its trade policy. Since Trump in Loggerheads, the two countries have been a new trade war in the U.S. China in early April, with the US tariffs for Chinese goods now at 145%, while the retaliation duties have reached China 125%.

Although no side does not want to blink first, the USA and China have already introduced a number of exceptions to their respective tariffs to alleviate the blow of a trade war that launches the global economy.

Chinese factory activity was slowed down in April. The statistics office made “sharp changes in the fault of the guilt [China’s] External environment ”for decline.

This week XI asked the officials to adapt to changes in the international environment, although he did not mention the United States.

Elsewhere, the Chinese propaganda was explicit. This week, the Foreign Ministry published a video in which the United States accused bullying and said that the bow would look like “drinking poison” before such behavior.

An American executive order to close a tariff of several billion dollars, which is known as “de Minimis”, came into force on Friday. The end of the de Minimis regime, which made it possible to send low goods to the USA without paying customs fees, mainly affects Chinese exporters.

Scott Bessent said this week that he was confident that China would like to achieve a deal. The US finance minister said: “First we have to de-escalate, and then we will concentrate on a larger trade agreement over time.”
