The case shook Swiss politics during the 2023 election campaign: Glarner had made a video about a party association in which the National Council of the Greens, Sibel Arslan, apparently for the SVP campaign. The Catch: The video was a Deeppake – technically demanding, but completely fake in terms of the content.

Arslan reacted immediately: she had the video blocked with a super -provisional injunction and also submitted a criminal complaint against Glarner. Now the National Council's immunity committee has decided: Glarner's immunity was lifted to 4 with 5 votes – the way for investigations is clear.
