Tuesday shots of death in Minneapolis rises to 4, suspected officially accused

The Minneapolis police say that another person died after a shootout in the city at the beginning of this week and brought the number of fatalities to four to four.

The police made the announcement during the night hours on Friday morning. He was identified as a 28-year-old man who died in a regional hospital. His name was not published.

The police found out about the death of the man, shortly after the official had arrested a man who was identified as a 34-year-old James Duane Ortley. As reported by 5 Eyewitness News, he was arrested on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of the South 4th Street by members of an FBI Swat team and the US marshal North Star Fugitive Task Force.

According to a criminal complaint, which was submitted at the beginning of this week, Ortley was officially charged with a second degree murder and a second degree of illegal firearm possession in the form of a second degree. Records show that Orleley has some previous convictions for crimes.

He is said to be in court on Friday at 1:30 p.m. because he was involved in the shootout on Tuesday on Tuesday.

The complaint states that the police were shot all five victims in the head by the shootout on Tuesday and that everyone was found either inside or directly a vehicle. While three of the five victims died at the crime scene, the other two were brought to hospitals for serious injuries, one of the victims of the hospital died on Thursday.

Court documents say that Ortleley and some of his family members are connected to a street gang called Native MOB that works in the southern part of Minneapolis and in other parts of Minnesota.

Family members of one of the victims told the police that all five victims were in a house in South Minneapolis in South Minneapolis that evening, but had left around 9:30 p.m. and had planned to collect Orteley. The document adds that Ortley was a close family friend for the victims.
