Increasing injury from two important Florida Gators

Gaineville, Florida The laundry list of injuries for the Florida Gators on the diamond continues to accumulate, since Shortstop Colby Shelton will be out of the way in the next three weeks according to D1baseball's Mark Etheridge.

Shelton was taken out of the second game in the Arkansas series last weekend and missed the final on Sunday.

This could possibly be a season at the end of Shelton that depends on Florida's post -season chances. The Gators currently do not have the necessary victories that have to be comfortable for a guaranteed place in the late season at this time.

This is a big blow for the Gator and will make it much more difficult for the campaign in these last weeks.

Florida's everyday shortstop is now joining the second Baseman Cade Kurland, the Centerfield Kyle Jones and the left-handed Pitcher Frank Menendez as important participants in the Gator 'injury list.

There were other newcomers in Florida's availability report. Niko Janssens and McCall Biemiller, a few left relievers, have been added for the SEC series of this weekend and will not be available.

However, head coach Kevin O'Sullivan received some good news. The left -hander Pierce Coppola, who has not played in one game for two months, was removed from the first availability report of the Gator.

These are important news for the gator that need more pitching, especially left -wing horns. It remains unclear how he is used in view of his previous injury record, if at all. In his approach, O'Sullivan will definitely be careful with Coppola's return and will not push it back in any way.

According to Baseball America's Jacob Rudner on X, every appearance this weekend will be brief for Coppola.

Florida begins her three-game series in South Carolina at 7 p.m.
