Top trend destinations for international trips for me in 2025: Wego

Wego revealed the relative popularity of global destinations with travelers in the Middle East. WEO users are looking for ten million trips per quarter, and the flight and hotel data were analyzed to determine the relative target rankings. The ranking listed the first four months of 2025 today.

Global target trends

Egypt and KSA keep their position at the top, a trend that has been consistent in the past ten years. The top three is rounded off India. After becoming the most populous country in the world lately, the highest number of Indians who live outside of India is in the Middle East. So it is no surprise that the country is not the top country with Middle East. The latest developments that cement the strong position of India include India's largest airline Indigo, which launched three new flight routes to Abu Dhabi. Akasa Air in Mumbai starts two more flight routes to Abu Dhabi; and Royal Jordanian, who announce public plans, fly to Delhi and Mumbai.

Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego, commented: “Egypt and Saudi Arabia have consistently held leading positions in our platform, a reflection of their strong outgoing and domestic travel appetite, well-established tourism infrastructure, and the year-round demand remained. His huge and growing diaspora, especially in the nearby east.”

Pakistan continues to go ground, reinforced by the success of the “Salam Pakistan” campaign, the stable economic climate and the distribution of online booking platforms in the country. In addition to the growing demand, the range of flight routes and flight strips has increased- in the first quarter alone, Flynas, Flyadeal and Airasia X started all direct flights to Karachi. In addition, the Fly Jinnah based in Karachi began international flights in 2024.

Further remarkable country movements are the dramatic increase of 30 places in Syria to reach the top 10. Syria started in January and March of Damascus from Damascus and in March of Aleppo, with Qatar Airways 90% registered on Doha-Damascus flights. In April, direct flights were also resumed to the VAE. With these developments, we expect Syria to take other positions within the top 10 in the second quarter and in the rest of 2025.
