Present officers who update the case of Charlotte Animal Cruyty with Opossum

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) – The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission terminated a press conference to update the public through an examination of cruelty to animals, which focuses on an opossum that was shining on fire and recorded.

The press conference was planned for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd and is streamed in the live stream player.

The Law Enforcement Division of NCWR led the investigation that began after the now viral video and the following photos were published online on Thursday, April 24th.

The video seemed to have been recorded that night and showed two people who were recorded by one third. At least one of the men could be seen how he poured an opossum with liquid before set the animal on fire.

Another video was recorded and published on social media in the animal's last moments. The videos were published online by men in the Charlotte region.

Animal cruelty is a crime of class H in North Carolina.

Two animal welfare authorities announced a reward of 5,000 US dollars for information that led to persecution of people involved in the videos.
