Kalen Deboer recently sat down with 247 Sports' Josh Gate and discussed two positions that Alabama was able to perform better in 2025.

Deboer is confident that the broad recipient of Alabama Football and the defensive back room before the 2025 season.

The crimson tide added the transfer portal and the high school ranks talent in its broad recipient room.

“I think Jamarcus Shepherd with the reception group, we had sales and really some people we brought into the program that I added to Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard,” said Deboer. “It is really fun to get the personality of Shep out in this group and really attack everything, the work there. I am happy about the development of this position.”

Alabama returns several starters in the secondary level, and Deboer believes that this remains a plus.

“And then the defensive back is a year ago in which we were and we had names,” said Deboer. “We brought in people, but they were completely new to this program and in many cases that came completely new in college football from the high school. Alabama Football focused on a strong summer.
