Cherokee County Man, who was convicted of murder in the death of a 1-year-old boy, says there

Atlanta, Ga. (Atlanta News First)-A man from Cherokee County was found guilty of murdering a 1-year-old boy, said prosecutors.

Gregory Farrell Davis Jr., 27, from Waleska, was sentenced to the first degree for murder for malice, cruelty, four cruelty of cruelty, and the intentional disability of law enforcement officers in the death of 1-year-old James “Jamie” Marco Palcio, the judicial district district, announced on Friday.

The public prosecutor said that the jury thought about an hour on Thursday before condemning Davis.

On April 28, 2021, the MEPs from Cherokee County answered a call about a non -reacting baby in a house in Waleska.

At that time Davis was the only adult with 1-year-old James Palcio. The prosecutors said Davis took care of Palcio while his mother was at work.

Pediatric specialists found that the young “misused head trauma had suffered in harmony with shaking”.

Palcios' injuries included “subdural bleeding, retinal bleeding, ligamentous injuries to the neck, broken rib and broken vertebrae in the lumbar spine,” said the prosecutors.

The 1-year-old was declared brain dead on April 30, 2021.

An autopsy confirmed that his cause of death was “acute and healing traumatic injuries to the head, neck and upper body”, and the nature of death was ruled as a murder.

During the trial, the jury heard 24 witnesses for the state and one for defense. The prosecutors also presented 114 exhibits as evidence, including 911 records, crime scene photos, medical reports, the autopsy report and other physical evidence.

The judge said the conviction was planned at a later date.
