AG, Professor Ameyaw-Ekumfi to burden over $ 2 million in the next week

Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, former CEO of Giif

Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has announced that considerable progress was made in investigation. Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Ekumfi will be charged next week.

He explained that the payment of $ 2 million made by the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund was not authorized, with only the former CEO Solomon Asamoah and the former CEO Professor Ameyaw-Ekumfi was aware of the transaction.

Both Asamoah and Ekumfi will be exposed to charges for board members in order to testify as a witness to the public prosecutor.

Dr. Ayine said he was mentioning her offers.

“In other studies, considerable progress was made in relation to the oral examinations presented to me in February.

“The investigation by the National Intelligence Bureau was just as thoroughly under the direction of his general director Alhassan Kipo and were led by the team in my office.

“We have completed investigations with regard to the Skytrain matter and will hopefully submit fees next week.

“We have found that the two million US dollars (2,000,000 US dollars), which were paid by the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund, were paid without a board of directors.

“The only people who knew the payment and acted on payment were the former CEO, Solomon Asamoah and the former CEO, Professor Ameyaw Ekumfi.

“Both will be charged next week. Some of the board members have offered to testify as witnesses to law enforcement, and I considered their offers,” said AG when he informed the media on April 30, 2025.
