Heidenheim and Bochum wasted their chance of climbing the table with a patient situation in Voith-Arena. However, there was a greater concern in the game when Kevin Müller was seriously injured after a collision.

Bochum knew that there was no good result as a victory in this game, as the exit/promotion playoff had her only chance to survive the drop. Dieter Hecking made four changes from the home raffle to Union Berlin, while the hosts only replaced by Leo Scienza with the suspended Niklas Dorsch.

Heidenheim's survival hopes were increased with a late victory in Stuttgart last Friday, but they did not waste time to look for a first goal in this case. In the meantime, visitors had to be satisfied with an early substitution with Philipp Hofmann after an air collision with Marvin Pieringer.

In half an hour the game recorded its second forced substitution. Scienza had a lively game until he struggled with back problems, which meant that he could not continue the game. The two substitutes myrron Boadu and Lirlord Conteh-used not much time to settle down, since both were involved in the best chances of their respective team before the half-time break.

Five minutes after the break, we had the third substitution of the game due to another injury. After a hard collision with Ibrahima Sissoko, Heidenheim's Kevin Müller received long treatment on the field. Both fans gathered for solidarity, while Müller was stretched from the field after ten minutes.

After the restart, Bochum almost took the lead when Boadu was refused. The hosts then regained the momentum, but they couldn't create any clear chances. Timo Horn refused another deceased winner for Heidenheim with an excellent rescue in the 100th minute.

The draw is a good result for the other three teams in the relegation battle. Heidenheim stays in the Playoff spot, while Bochum stays at the foot of the table.
