Cinco de Mayo is a fun vacation and it is also a great day to celebrate Ellis. “The Fonz” was the fifth election in the NBA design of the Denver Nuggets from 1992. This striker ended as an all -rookie in a remarkable debut season with an average of 14.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 blocks per game. This laid the basis for a solid career, with Ellis having a career year in 1997. He achieved an average of 21.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks as one of the best players in the nuggets.

Ellis spent six years in Denver, but closed his career with stints in Atlanta, Minnesota and Miami. In 2003 he officially retired with an average of 11.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks during his 11-year career. Ellis was also after his career as a commentator for ESPN.
