Man argue with his girlfriend, who was killed by Byanger near Riverside: APD

The Austin police identified the man who was killed in a parking lot near Riverside on Thursday.

The background story:

Austin's police said on May 1, around 6:59 p.m., the officials replied to a call in which he reported that someone was shot at the Shell petrol station at the E. Riverside Drive in 2001.

When the officials arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot on the floor. The police said he died of his injuries.

The man was later identified as Marcos Valerio-Rodriguez, 37.

The investigation showed that Valerio-Rodriguez went to his girlfriend's job near the petrol station. They began to argue outside of their job.

Finally the girlfriend went back and Valerio-Rodriguez went. Later Valerio-Rodriguez returned to his girlfriend's job and knocked on the door. A man who was a viewer intervened, causing Valerio-Rodriguez to take out a knife.

The man then pulled out a gun and shot Valerio-Rodriguez.

The man who shot Valerio-Rodriguez together works with the investigation, the police said.

No fees are submitted at this point.

This case is examined as Austin's 22nd murder of 2025.
