World Cup 2026 “Trionda” Match Ball leaks with colors of the USA, Mexico and Canada

There are not many pieces that define a FIFA World Cup tournament more than one match ball, and the 2026 edition leaked online via Footy headlines on Friday.

The ball was made by Adidas and seems to be called “Trionda”, which combined the Spanish words for three (tri) and Welle (Onda), which meant the three guest nations of the tournament, the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The design that wraps around the ball also underlines the three nations, with Canada in red, Mexico in green and the United States in blue. Over a year away, the new ball is the heart of the first 48-team world championship.

In a big change compared to the Qatar 2022 World Cup ball, Al Rihla, the Trionda has only four panels compared to 20 panel designs from Qatar tournament. The last four panel ball took place 12 years earlier at the 2014 tournament in Brazil, in which the Brazza was presented.

While the ball is only a leak for the time being, in September 2024 it fits from Adidas via the US patent and brand office, which was submitted by Adidas.

World Cup balls have quickly become a major factor for every tournament and prove to be much more than just a style statement, but a key piece in the way the game is played. In 2010, players complained about the unpredictability of the Jabulani ball, but since then the World Cup balls have generally received positive reviews.

The 2026 tournament continues a long tradition for Adidas, which has designed and made available and made available in Mexico World Cup balls since the 1970 tournament, when it contains the now iconic Telstar and contains the 32-panel-alternating black and white design.

In addition to the ball and the rest of the brand, the 2026 World Championship also has 16 posters, each of which represents each of the cities.

The World Cup 2026 begins on June 11, 2026 in Mexico City in Estadio Azteca. The last sentence for the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
