The dry strip in April licks in May – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sport

Happy Friday, May 2, 2025, Südflorida!

Hopefully everyone had a great week and enjoyed the nice weather in the last days of April and in the first days of May! This dry strip that we have experienced is quite unusual for the month of April, because we could even enjoy a few days with comfortable humidity levels in the entire region. And although this pleasant pattern will change very soon, Südflorida still had a day to enjoy this quiet and quiet weather, as there was a wonderful end of the working week today. Apart from a stained shower here and there, only one trace of rain over some places on the coast in Südflorida (especially Fort Lauderdale) was recorded.

A high pressure in the Atlantic has been the dominant weather for South Florida in the past few weeks. But things change for us. This “huge high” will break out in the Atlantic in the Atlantic this weekend. This leads to our wind pattern from the southeast out of the weekend, which means that our temperatures heat a little more, while the humidity gradually increases. A few isolated showers will be possible in the morning and then again in the afternoon, since some inland shower activities return east to the western suburbs of Miami-Dade and Broward. Overall, there will be a lot of dry time on Saturday to enjoy safely and forget your two good friends 1) H2O and 2) sun protection!

With regard to the future, a slowly moving front will occur in North Florida if the moisture level in South Florida increases. The winds are deviated from the south, which is responsible for pumping more moisture through the area. This means that rain opportunities will be on the advance for the last part of the weekend. But it won't rain all day. While scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms return to the PM on Sunday, the first half of the day should be on the quiet side with a lot of dry time. It will also feel very dampening and high temperatures for some South Florida spots that reach the upper 80s! After the front is still nearby at the beginning of next week, the unexplained weather will continue in Südflorida on Monday. A few strong thunderstorms will also be possible. Let us cross our fingers, as it will be the first time in well over a month that Südflorida can be seen measurable rain that helps our ongoing drought conditions.

Have a nice weekend!
