Billboard Canada Is ready to emphasize some of the most important players in the music industry: music manager.

Cima appeals to Prime Minister Mark Carney

Black Eyed Peas' Apl.de.ap and other Lapu Lapu Day Festival artists speak to Van attack in Vancouver

Artists share their heartache after a fatal attack at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival from Vancouver.

The attack killed 11 people and let dozens more injured when an SUV drove through the block party on Saturday (April 26). A 30-year-old man was charged with eight murder second degree.

The festival organized by Filipino BC is a celebration of the Filipino hero Datu Lapu-Lapu and an annual occasion to celebrate the Filipino-Canadian Community, Resilience and Cultural Heritage.

The attack took place in the evening after a day of appearances by artists such as the Black Eyed Peas' apl.de.ap (the Filipino-American artist known as Allan Pineda Lindo), the multidisciplinary artist Kaya Ko and the R&B singer Sade Awele. Festival share news and are calling for support for the BC Filipino Community after the attack.

Apl.de.ap and the Filipino singer J. Rey Soul had recently left the stage after they ended their headliner set when the attack took place.

“It is difficult to describe the shock and the severity we feel,” she said in a joint explanation on social media. “Please keep the victims, their families and the organizers in their prayers.”
