Mike Taylor, a 9to5mac reader, recently told a powerful report on how his Apple Watch saved his life – which a similar story we reported at the beginning of this week.

What started as a mild shortness of breath turned into a life -threatening emergency. After Taylor left his work one evening, he collapsed on his way to his car in an almost empty parking lot. From what he later learned, he learned several large blood clots in the lungs, of which one of which blocked oxygen into his heart.

In a reddit contribution, Taylor remembered what happened: “I thought I only had a persistent or maybe strange, covidal symptoms, mainly breath. Nothing crazy … until one evening after work.

“Next I know that I will come down on the sidewalk, and my Apple Watch vibrated and flashed SOS. It had recognized the hard fall and automatically called 911. In my vacant condition, I actually stopped the call (be not like me 😅), but luckily 911 called back on the right.”

Paramedics arrived within a few minutes and hurried him into the emergency room. A doctor later told him that the quick reaction probably caused the difference between life and death. His wife, who was 35 miles away, was immediately notified by her iPhone thanks to the emergency warning warnings.

Taylor attributes the Apple Watch autumn and emergency characteristics to save his life and calls on others to prepare their properly. “You never believe that you need this stuff until you really do it,” he said. “I'm glad to be here. Still so amazed that my watch saved me pretty much.”
