Alabama Mann gets in prison for decades to plan the murder of the Birmingham state prosecutor

A man from Jefferson County with a long crime story was sentenced to prison for the murder of the state prosecutor in Birmingham.

On Friday, a judge sentenced 32 -year -old Michael Roman Black to 35 years in prison because he had convicted the shootout of a federal prosecutor and 17 years for drug and weapon accusations, which had previously been submitted by the U.S. Prosecutor's office for the northern district of Alabama, according to the US lawyer Kevin Davidson for drug and weapon suspicions.

Black, who came from the Bessemer region, was convicted last year.

The Middle District public prosecutor's office tried the case because the threat to a prosecutor in Birmingham, which is located in the northern district, has.

Black was previously convicted of a state court for a reduced indictment for manslaughter in the shooting of an 18-year-old in Bessemer in 2011. Black was 18.

According to judicial records in the federal case, Black was imprisoned in Hoover in February 2023 after the US public prosecutor's office was raised against him against him.

Black was recorded for drug and weapon costs.

During his detention, the authorities said that Black told another inmate about his plan to have one of the federal prosecutors who were murdered in his case “on the outside”.

Black informed specific details about whom he wanted to contact and that he let her shoot her in her car.

The law enforcement authorities learned about this threat and developed an operation after confirming their legitimacy and seriousness in order to successfully thwart the murder.

When asked by federal agents, Black made false statements to cover up his plan.

“Michael Black's conspiracy to destroy a federal prosecutor was not only an attempt to avoid the responsibility for his crimes, but it was also a brazen act of revenge,” said Davidson.

“The focus of our judicial system and must have serious consequences. I recommend the investigators and prosecutors whose quick measures protected and ensured that justice was served.”

Black in 2011 was charged with the shooting of 18-year-old Luman Jones. In 2014 he was guilty of the reduced indictment for manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

It was not immediately clear how many years he actually served.
