Community remembers two Eagle Mountain Boys who were killed three years ago

Friday marked three years since the three -year -old Odin Ratliff and Hunter Jackson were hit and killed by a car while playing in stables in Eagle Mountain.

This year's anniversary is different because Kent Cody Barlow was found guilty a week earlier to have murdered the two boys. He fell his car while he was high for meth.

Friends and family gathered to honor the children's memories in a special celebration. They called it an angel shipping.

The community came together where the accident played games, filled a time capsule and simply remember the two boys.

Number three is of great importance for Odin and Hunter's families.

They were three years old when they were hit and killed three years ago.

“Three is a large, strong number for us,” said Odin's mother Theresa Ratliff.

They decided to fill a time capsule that will open in three years.

Theresa said they want to use it to show the boy what they did and how they lived for them in three years.

“It was just so nice to have the feeling of celebrating the power of three,” said Theresa.

Theresa said Barlow's judgment made the lead to this celebration of life much easier.

“It was really nice to feel much more present in everyday life and be ready for today, instead of fearing today,” she said.

Friends and family played games, blow bubbles and filled the time capsule.

Theresa said she talked to Odin about this special anniversary.

“I told him about all his friends, we'll blow bubbles and we will play tractors and do all of his favorite things,” she said. “I told him that if he wanted to be here, he can be here and we want hunters to come too.”

Theresa said you opened this to the community because you have given support in the past three years.
