Customs that cause video game prices to rise

Longwood, Florida – Since the continued trade war between China and the United States continues to have an effect, a point that seems to be affected is toys.

What you need to know

  • Distributors ask toy transactions to order a whole month before the normally for Christmas before they would normally do it
  • Comic prices rise from China due to ink costs
  • The Xbox prices rose on Thursday
  • The Nintendo prices rose and the expectations are that it will happen again this summer

Between video games, comics and action figures, the tariffs have an impact on the business.

Christmas may be a few months away, but when it comes to planning and stocking for vacation, the time is now. Distributors require toy transactions to require.

Lawrence Jorash, sales manager for ACME Superstore in Longwood, says when it comes to the new toys in the store, 60% come from China. Dealers currently recommend that he now buy to ensure that the shelves for Christmas are fully equipped – a whole month before he would normally do it.

“Price Wise, I don't notice a big difference,” said Jorash. “I get that, 'Hey, you have to order these big programs of 64 toys in one case if you want to guarantee them for Christmas.”

On the other side of ACME Superstore there are boxes and boxes with comics.

While 90% of them in the United States are the most important component, the ink from China.

The popular comic franchise “Spawn” recently recorded a remarkable increase that its customers did not support.

“You will find that there is a price of 3.99 US dollars,” said Jordan. “At the moment my business costs 2.99 US dollars. And I had about 50% of my readers to cancel their subscription that day.”

Acme Superstore decided to eat the costs.

The tariffs also felt their presence on the street near Cybertron video games. The Xbox prices on Thursday rose across the country, but cybertron only increases prices when their current shares are sold out.

“There was a price increase of $ 100 for the consoles, and that was all along the line,” said Gregg Perez, co-owner of Cybertron Video Games. “The games also rose to $ 70. Tariffs were probably the main cause of it.”

With regard to Nintendo products, the accessories have increased by about 10% in the past few weeks, but Nintendo also tells customers that prices could increase even more.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is currently to be published in June at a price of $ 449.99, but the next return that would take place in autumn could also see this price increase.
