Braden Holcomb injury update for Vanderbilt Baseball

Braden Holcomb from Vanderbilt Baseball left the start of the series against Alabama on Friday as a precaution after he had violated an obvious injury to the second basis in the seventh inning, said coach Tim Corbin.

Holcomb hit a double from the left field wall and tried a head dive to second place. He was safe, but he stayed on the floor and pointed to his shoulder when he was checked out by the coach. He stayed in the game for the rest of the inning and went back to play the right field for the tip of the eighth. It was removed for a pinch of Hitter in the bottom of eighth place.

The Commodores won the game 12: 2 in the running rule for a bases loaded by Mike Mancini.

Corbin said he thought that Holcomb would be okay.

“I took him out just to look at,” said Corbin. “Well, I think he's fine. I asked him to go out if he will be fine tomorrow, he says, yes. So we will see.”

Holcomb was 1: 4 in the game.
