The Eagle Mountain Community considers a monument to killed boys

Eagle Mountain, Utah Friday evening was three years since the families of Odin Ratliff and Hunter Jackson lost their three-year-old boys tragically.

The way they were lost cannot be understood by their loved ones.

But they say that with the attempt and conviction of Kent Barlow, they say in a different light.

“This is my second home – it was Odin's second home,” said Odin's mother Theresa Ratliff. “Since the attempt I have moved more and connected here and connected more to Odin.”

The family stood in the Corral where they played that night and bloomed to heaven.

“To have this moment of silence, to take these really big breaths and allow them to get through us,” said Ratliff.

In this year's vigil, it was about ensuring that your memories will forward a time capsule for the boys who will reopen every three years.

“I mean, the boys were three, it was three years ago since they passed,” said Ratliff. “We want to celebrate the power of three celebrations.”

Theresa Ratliff said she spoke to Odin and told him that he and Hunter could come to the celebration. She says that if you were there last night, you will know how loved you are.

“This shows that they not only meant us the most, but also touched a lot of people,” said Ratliff and spoke to the amount that gathered.

Theresa tells me that she hopes that the time when Barlow serves him gives him the opportunity to reflect on his actions and the wave effect that it has on her community.

But at the moment she has focused on celebrating these two boys and locking her legacy in this time capsule in order to be remembered forever.
