Trump shrugs the fear of recession and says that a downturn would be fine in the long term

President Donald Trump seemed to be released that his economic policy could cause a recession and informed the NBC messages that the economy would be “in order” in the long term, even if a recession takes place in the near future.

“Some people on Wall Street say that we will have the largest economy in history. Why don't they talk about them? Because some people on Wall Street say this is the best thing it has ever,” said Trump in an interview clip published on Friday by “Meet The Press with Kristen Welker”.

The president urged whether he would agree to a recession at short notice to achieve his long-term goals: “You can see, everything is fine. What we said-I said is a transitional time. I think we'll do fantastic.”

Trump's economic policy -and in particular the trade war, which he lit with his whipsaw, have already brought the world's largest economy into the reverse reversal: gross domestic product, which measures all goods and services created in business, which were registered with an annualized price of -0.3% in the first quarter, the business and consumer donations of the otration on Wednesday Department for the Otrand, and the department for trade and the department for trade, the department for trade, the department on Wednesday.

That was far worse than the economists expected, and it was the worst quarter since 2022.

Trump previously warned that the Americans would see an economic “disorder” during a transition period, since his politics reset the global economic order for friend and enemy alike. He has imposed worldwide tariffs (and some of them, and he has raised particularly high import taxes against China, a large US trade partner.

At the beginning of this week, for example, he admitted that tariffs could lead to bottlenecks and higher prices for everyday Americans.

“You know, someone said:” Oh, the shelves will be open, “said Trump.” Well, maybe the children have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, do you know? And maybe the two dolls cost a few more dollars than they usually. ”

Trump and some administrative officers have previously signaled that tariffs can plunge the economy into a recession – and that can be an acceptable result.

Finance Minister Scott Bessent proposed to need America “detoxification” break. If Trump's tariffs had managed to restore America's manufacturing skills, said Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick that a recession would be “worth it”. And Trump sometimes refused to rule out a recession due to his actions.

The US economy is driven by consumption-ETWA. And throwing sand in this growth can lead to considerable disorders.

The economy is certainly growing. But it is still too early to say whether the United States is in a recession. The official definition of a recession in the United States is “a significant decline in economic activity that is widespread through the economy and takes more than a few months”.

The clip is part of a larger interview that will be broadcast on NBCS “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
