According to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office, a cat survived a terrible fall of 380 feet, which killed its two owners in a popular landmark of Utah.

The tourists Matthew Nannen, 45, and Bailee Crane (58) visited the inspiration point in the scenic national park of Utah with their older Tabby – now called Mirage – When the trio made a fateful leap on Monday evening or Tuesday morning, the Salt Lake Tribune reported on the Sheriff's Office.

Mirage, who is an estimated 12 years old, was found on Tuesday evening by hikers in a soft black pet carrier and in remarkably good condition near the body of her legal guardians, the outlet reported.

According to CBS News, Nannen and Crane were identified by Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.

The happy cat only suffered two broken dog teeth and a few broken ribs – but miraculously “seemed to have survived the fall pretty well,” said the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

“She was matted and a bit sore, but is friendly and drink and eat alone during the examination,” said the rescue to The Outlet.

Mirage also had normal bloodwork, did not suffer any internal injuries – and reacts well to frequent attention and regular rows of heads, said the sanctuary.

Nannen and Crane seemed to get out of a U-Haul and recently came from Arizona to Utah, with her last known constant residence in Florida being the Garfield County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

It is not known how the couple fell, but it is assumed that according to CBS News, they have exceeded the guardrails at the inspiration point.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary will search for a relative of the deceased to record Mirage and look for an adoption house if these efforts failed, the tribune reported.

Inspiration Point offers three levels on which, according to the National Park Service, the Bryce Amphitheater, the world's largest collection of rock stitches called “Hoodoos”, is overlooked.
