1 killed and 4 injured after tourist helicopter crashes in the Chinese city of Suzhou

A sightseeing helicopter crashed in a newly opened picturesque area in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou, killed a person on the ground and injured four on board.

The accident occurred on Friday afternoon when the helicopter came in land and, according to the local emergency services, fell from a height of about 10 meters (33 feet).

Officials said the four injured passengers were taken to the hospital and that nobody was in a critical condition. The person killed was identified as a spectator on site, but no further details were published.

The helicopter had flown through a newly built park in the city in Jiangsu, one of the most popular destinations in China.

Park-and Austin Blossom Scenic Area-Wurde only opened last week after a three-year construction process. It covers about 20 hectares (50 hectares) and so the largest Wisteria Rose Garden from East Chinia.

An employee of the park, which was closed until further notice, said that the helicopter belongs to a third -party provider that offers aviation.
