Austin Reaves has enforced a toe injury to Timberwolves in Playoffs

Austin Reaves had to forget a post -season when the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs. Reaves played terribly against the Timberwolves, and it turns out that an injury played a role in it. Trevor Lane, analysts of Lakers, reports that Reaves had suffered a sprain of the left big toe in the series.

“It can confirm that Austin Reaves had to do with a left-wing Big ToE for a 2-4-week injury during the playoffs.

Dan Woike von Los Angeles Times reported that Reaves played the toe injury in the last two games and that she would normally have kept him away for several weeks.

“Between James' knee injury, Luka Doncic's back injury and a unadorned toe injury that Austin Reaves played through in the last two games of the series, the Lakers would be pretty beaten if they were forced a game 6.”

The Lakers would certainly not have been in good condition if they had managed to extend this series. There would have been no LeBron James in a potential game 6, since he had suffered a class 2 MCL in game 5 after working with Donte Divincenzo.

Luka Doncic now had an unpleasant fall in game 5, which left him with a back injury. You would certainly not have loved the chances of the Lakers to win this series, even if you somehow managed to avoid defeat in game 5.

He returned to Reaves and also fought before he suffered this toe injury. The 26-year-old scored an average of 17.3 points in the first three games. This is not great, and he would end the series with an average of 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.6 blocks per game, while he shoots 41.1% from the field and 31.9%.

Reaves could have increased the injury as an excuse for his bad game after the series, but he didn't. He took responsibility and swore to make better in the future.

“I didn't have the series I wanted,” said Reaves. “You can point to me. I wasn't good enough to help us to be successful. I wish I could do more. I didn't do it. I have problems.

This was a disappointing end of the best season of the Reaves career. During the regular season, he scored an average of 20.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks per game.

Reaves was celebrated at a time as the best third option in the NBA, but this chatter after this series. He has to wait a while to make up for his game against the Timberwolves.
